North Shore

July 30th, 2010

I figured out which room gets the best free network service, so I should be able to update regularly now. Thank you network 074B1401ZBX1559 in Waikiki. One of the best things about vacation is losing track of time. So I forget what day this was, but we drove up to North Shore. As soon as we hit Haleiwa, we stopped at Macky’s Shrimp Truck. Voted #1 on the Islands. I can’t argue.

We got garlic butter and lemon pepper. Fantastic!

We met up with some friends for some swimming on the beach. You can see Jumprock here in the distance. It was crazy packed so we just slid right on over to the next beach. I will see you again Jumprock. Just you wait!

Our friends hadn’t had Shrimp Trucks yet, so we tagged along with them to Giovanni’s. Seems most people either go to Giovanni’s or Macky’s. Since I had both in a matter of a few hours, I think I have a pretty good view on the subject. And let me tell you, Macky’s all the way. Not even close. Yeah, Giovanni’s gives you more shrimp, but the shrimp at Macky’s are bigger and fresher. I also think the sauces at Macky’s are better and they give you salad and a slice of pineapple with your meal. Don’t get me wrong, Giovanni’s is awesome. Macky’s is just awesomer. (By the way, I realize these descriptions are about as moving and eye opening as a fourth grade book report, but it’s the best I can do after long days of being awesome. I thank you for your patience.)

On our way back to Haleiwa for some Shave Ice.

It doesn’t get any better than Matsumoto’s. Lilikoi with vanilla ice cream at the bottom and topped with condensed milk. Damn good!

I know BFAM is a brand built on brotherhood, but our sisters get love too.
