Nut Sauce, Leptospirosis, And Green Screen
July 31st, 2010We had a pretty full day yesterday, starting with breakfast in Kailua at Boots and Kimo. We came for their famous Banana Pancakes with Macadamia Nut Sauce. I gotta say, it was good, buuuuuut…. I’m afraid I like the pancakes at Mac 24/7 better. They are two completely different pancakes, but for my taste buds, I have to give the nod to Mac 24/7. I might get booted (pun intended) out of Hawaii for admitting so, but it’s the truth.
The sprinkles on top of the hot chocolate was a nice touch. Never had that before. Felt like Christmas.
Nut Sauce! (insert immature joke here)
After breakfast we headed to Maunawili Falls. It was about an hour hike up and over and through some mountains in some pretty thick mud to a small water hole about 15 feet deep, underneath the falls. Once we finally reached the waterfall after battling the long hike, mosquitoes, mud and Leptospirosis threat, it was heaven. It was like when Sarah and Littlefoot discovered The Great Valley in The Land Before Time.
“I foooouuund it! Hmmm:)” (only true The Land Before Time heads will get that joke.)
Mike in all his beauty.
That little girl might look sweet, but that bitch pushed me.
The guy that took this picture was this 60 something hippie that kept talking about how he liked our style, 3 girls and 2 guys. It was kinda creepy, kinda funny.
After getting dirty from the hike back, we need to wash off the mud as well as the Leptospirosis, so Jenna and I headed to Lanikai for some relaxation. The white sand beach is so nice it looks fake, like we’re actors in front of a green screen. This is the Hawaii I’m talking about…
We capped off our day with some good ole Rainbow Drive-In and some views from our balcony.
By the way, EST is right around the corner!
Keep Summer Alive!
